On January 20th James F. Cooper Elementary School welcomed picture book author Laura T. Barnes.  Mrs. Barnes entertained the students by showing them pictures of the farm that she lives on and the animals that she cares for.  She told the students that her animals are her inspiration for her stories and that the ideas for her stories come from the things that her animals do.  She talked to the students about what it's like to be author and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams.  Thank you Mrs. Barnes!

The students and staff of Cooper School want to offer their sincere thanks to the PTA for providing the funding and support for this special assembly.  Without the PTA, Mrs. Barnes' visit would not have been possible!
