  • August

    • Practices for Fall sports begin in August. Click here for the dates.

    • Mon., Aug. 17- Drum line Auditions - 10 AM. For more information about the 2009-2010 Cherry Hill East Music Department click here.

    • Tues., Aug. 18 - East Band Camp Begins! - Noon- 5 PM. For more information about the Cherry Hill East Music Department click here.


    • Welcome class of 2013! Orientations for incoming freshman will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 7 pm and on Tuesday, August 25 at 9 am. All freshman students and parents are required to attend one of these meetings.


    • Bus routes will be posted inside the schools beginning August 24.  

    • Tuesday, August 25 - BOE Action Meeting, 7:00 p.m., Malberg Board Room. On the agenda will be an update on improvements to athletic fields at East and West and on HVAC repairs at East.

    • Remember, any schedule changes are due before August 26.


  • September

    • Sat., Oct. 3 - East PTA is holding a fund raiser at Springdale Farms - Click here for a flyer.
    • Sun., Oct. 4 - Click HERE for information about a free Health and Wellness Expo at the Doubletree Guest Suites on Fellowship Road in Mt. Laurel.  Free screenings and workshops will be offered from 9 AM to 3 PM. Proceeds from this event will benefit the athletic departments at Cherry Hill East and West.

    • Mon., Oct. 5 - Zone PTA Coat Drive begins (through Oct. 16)

    • Mon., Oct. 5:  Enjoy dinner at La Posata Restaurant, 892 N. Rt. 73, Greentree Square, Marlton, from 5 – 9 p.m. and the Cherry Hill Education Foundation will receive 20% of the sales.

    • Tues. Oct. 6 - Deadline for application to perform in East’s Got Talent Variety Show which will be held on Oct. 23, please pick up an application at the SGA Office (A019).

    • Oct. 6 through Oct. 8 - HSPA'a for retained 11th graders, 12th graders new to district, and retained 12th graders.

    • Wed., Oct. 7:  Annual Golf Tournament at Pennsauken Country Club.  Sponsored by The Cherry Hill Education Foundation.

    • Thurs., Oct. 8 - Interim Marking Period Ends

    • Fri., Oct. 9 - Deadline for registering for the PSAT's to be given on Oct. 17.  Click HERE for a letter from Guidance Director Jim Riordan.

    • Oct. 9 and Oct. 10 - East Lab Theater  presents two chilling evenings of entertainment in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM. The presentations are “The Velvet”, “The Lottery”, and “Ladies of the Tower”. Show tickets are $8.00 at the door.

    • Sat. Oct. 10 - East PTA Mum Sale - Flower pickup is in the East Parking Lot from 8am to 12pm.

    • Tues., Oct. 13 - Freshman Class Representative Elections will be held on in Cafeteria 2 all day.

    • Thursday, October 15 - East PTA Meeting. "Come to the meeting on October 15 for budget information and discussion." 

      • At this meeting, we will discuss and vote on the PTA and Project Graduation budgets.

    • The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) will be administered to 10th and 11th grade students on Saturday, October 17 at Cherry Hill East and West.  The test familiarizes students with the requirements for SAT and also provides the district with valuable data on student performance.  Students are encouraged to participate; the fee is $24 and the registration deadline is Friday, October 9. Click HERE for a letter from Guidance Director Jim Riordan.


    • Sat., Oct. 17 - The East Field Hockey team would will hold a Car Wash fundraiser at Cherry Hill East, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We need your support!

      • Save the date! The annual Fall Conference for Parents of Children with Special Needs will be held on Saturday, October 17, from 8 am – 2 pm at the Carman Tilelli Community Center, 820 Mercer Street.  This free conference is open to parents and professionals; it features experts on a variety of topics affecting the special needs child. Representatives from federal, state and local agencies will be available. Registration is required; space is limited.     • Mon., Oct. 19 - Enjoy dinner at Short Hills Restaurant and Deli, 486 Evesham Road from 4 – 9 p.m. (Eat-In or Take-Out) and the Cherry Hill Education Foundation will receive 20% of the sales.

    • Tues. Oct. 20 - East cheerleaders are doing a fund raiser at PJ WHelhans on Rte 70 after 5:00pm. All people that eat in only that mention they're there to support Cherry Hill East Cheerleaders. 10% of the cost of your meal will go back to the cheerleaders.

    • Fri., Oct. 23 - Come on out to the first-ever East's Got Talent variety competition at 7:30 PM. See East's most talented go head-to-head in a battle to be named East's best of the best. As always, admission is just $5 for a night of entertainment and fun. See you there!

    • Fri., Oct. 23 - Senior Class Group Picture - seniors will report to homeroom first, and after attendance has been taken, they will report to the DiBart Gym for our annual group photo.

    • Sun., Oct. 25 - Powder Puff Football - The annual game between the Junior and Senior girls will be played on Sun., Oct. 25 at 2:00 PM behind the school.
    • Wed. Oct. 28 - The Cherry Hill East Vocal Ensemble has been selected to perform at the Opening General Session of the NJSBA/NJASA/NJASBO Annual Workshop (NJ School Boards Association/NJ Association of School Administrators/NJ Association of School Business Officials). The East students will perform in Atlantic City. Congratulations!

    • Picture Make Up Day - The photographers will return to East on Wednesday, October 28th to photograph staff members and students who have not yet had their picture taken.

  • November

    • Tuesday, Nov. 3 - Election Day - Full Day Teacher in-service - Schools Closed for Students

    • Thursday, Nov. 5 and Friday, Nov. 6 - NJEA Convention - Schools Closed for Students & Teachers

    • Sat. Nov. 7 - SAT Testing – Students should arrive by 7:45 AM

    • Our Fall Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, November 11 from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M

    • On Sat. Nov. 14th at the Cherry Hill Library, 1100 Kings Highway N, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Cherry Hill Police Department, is joining with the DEA, The NJ Office of the Attorney General, and The Partnership for a Drug Free NJ to educate NJ residents about the dangers of prescription drug use and the accessibility of these drugs in “Operation Medicine Cabinet”. Statistics show that more than 70% of people who abuse prescription painkillers say they get them from family or friends.

    • The Counseling Center will be holding a College Forum on Friday, January 8, 2010 during periods 5 and 6 in the Auditorium. As in the past, we have invited members of East’s class of 2009 to talk to current juniors and seniors about the transition from high school to college. Topics discussed include academic preparation, social life, dormitory living, among others. Students and faculty are invited to attend either period.
    • Virtual worlds are emerging as a cutting-edge technology...the Cherry Hill Alliance on Alcohol & Drug Abuse and SCOPE present Dangers of a Virtual World on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 7-8:30 pm in the conference room at the Cherry Hill Library, 1100 Kings Highway North.     • January 13 and 14 - Try-outs for the Coffee House stage entertainment will be held  after school in DO-41. These try-outs are open to ALL EAST STUDENTS so come out and show off your talent! Sign up for a time at the Thespian call-board outside cafeteria 1 and fill out a try-out form to bring to your audition. Questions? Contact Mrs. Lausi at LLausi@chclc.org.

    • Friday, January 22 - The Freshman Dance is being held at 7:30 PM. Admission is $15 in advance.
    • Saturday, January 23 - The annual East Coffee House will be held from 7-10 pm in the East cafeterias. The theme is Kids Helping Kids and all proceeds will benefit the UMDNJ CARES Institute, a resource for families and children who have experienced abuse. There will be a carnival set up in cafeteria 1 and a stage in cafeteria 2 featuring wonderful acts!  Your admission of $5 will get you coffee, tea, or cocoa and a wonderful evening of family fun! Artwork, baked goods, and shirts will be sold to benefit the cause. Come take part in this favorite East tradition!     • CHSEPTA presents Dr. Marie Lewis and Robert Gidding, Esq., on January 27 at 7 PM at the Malberg Administration Building, 45 Ranoldo Terrace. The topic will be “Interpreting and Measuring Educational Progress.” Learn practical ways of measuring progress through curriculum based assessment and standardized testing.  For details on the presenters, click HERE.

  • February

    • Friday, February 5 - The SGA will be sponsoring Wing Bowl 2009 at 7:00 PM. Cost of admission is $5.00. All proceeds will go to charity.

    • The Cherry Hill School District’s Mt. Misery Program is hosting a Spirit Night Fundraising Event at Chick-fil-A in Garden State Parke (near Wegman’s) on Friday, February 5, 4-9 pm.  Bring the event flyer (click HERE) or just mention that you’re supporting Mt. Misery. Chick-fi-A will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to help fund scholarships for 6th graders who cannot afford the program.

    • The Open House for eighth grade students and their parents will be held on Tuesday evening February 9. If you missed the Course of Study Orientation meeting for your eighth grader earlier this month, you can view the slide presentation by clicking HERE.

    • There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 P.M. for students going on the senior trip. One parent or guardian must attend with student. Please note that if a parent/guardian cannot attend, the student should attend. If the student is unable to attend but the parent/guardian can, we encourage them to do so.

    • Wing Bowl 2010 Rescheduled to Friday, February 19 at 7:30 PM (note the time change). Admission is still only $5. Be there.

    • DECA New Jersey State Conference will be held February 21- 23

    • CH SPECIAL EDUCATION PTA Presents: Renay Zamloot, Non-Attorney Special Education Advocate.  Effective Participation in the IEP Process February 23, 2010, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m at the Malberg Bldg. RSVP: (856) 414-9040 or nancym110@me.com. Reservations appreciated. Ms. Zamloot will guide you through the art of effective communication, organization, and active participation in the IEP process. The strategies and advice you will receive will empower you with the confidence to engage as an equal member of the decision-making team in IEP meetings for your child. Ms. Zamloot will provide clear examples and interesting anecdotes to foster understanding. This workshop is free to parents of students with disabilities.
