Substance Abuse Rubric

Substance Abuse Pamphlet- Students will create an anti-substance abuse pamphlet to be presented to the class. Students will choose a topic that does not include tobacco or alcohol. The pamphlet must contain at least 5 true facts and 5 effects of substance abuse, a minimum of 2 drawings, 1 slogan, information on how someone can get help and one reference source.

Graphic support (Two pictures minimum) information on how someone can get help	Did not turn in the assignment. Includes a minimal number of graphics, which minimally support the theme of the assignment.	Includes appropriate number of graphics, which contribute good support to the theme of the assignment.	Includes numerous graphics, which vividly illustrate the theme of the assignment.
Effects and facts of Substance Abuse (five each minimum)	Did not turn in the assignment.	There may be no or too few effects and/ or facts; or the effects and/ or facts which are included do not appropriately support the theme of the assignment.	Includes a minimal number of effects and/ or facts which minimally support the theme of the assignment. Note: All anti-substance abuse pamphlets turned in late will be deducted points for each class period you are present.

To setup to make a pamphlet on the computer: go to WORD, left click on FILE on the menu bar, scroll down until you come to PAGE SETUP left click on PAGE SETUP, scroll down until you come to orientation left click on LANDSCAPE, then left click on OK. Left click on FORMAT on the menu bar, left click on COLUMNS, left click on THREE, then left click on OK. Now you are ready to start.
