VOCABULARY WORDS:



1. PATHOGENS: Germs that cause a disease

would normally be able to fight: most commonly caught by Aids Victims.



7. CHANCRE: The earliest sign of Syphilis in it's primary stages: an open sore



8.  GONORRHEA: A STD caused by Bacteria enters through mucous membranes



9. AZT: Drug used to slow the progress of Aids



10. PCP: (Pneumocystis) A type of Pneumonia usually caught by Aids victims. It can be fatal

chances of becoming ill

16. ANTIBODIES: Substances (in blood) that fight and destroys Pathogens found in the body



17. ABSTINENCE: Choosing not to be sexually active



18. STERILE: Unable to have a child



19. BONE MARROW: The tissue in the center of the long bones where blood cells are produced



20. T-HELPER CELLS: A helper cell; A special white blood cell that helps other white blood cells
