CH 1.32 The student accesses information efficiently and effectively. Grades 6-8
M. Recognizes and explains the differences between accurate and inaccurate information and complete and incomplete information for intelligent decision making
P. Develops and uses strategies for locating information, revises plans for accessing information for a range of needs and situations
CH 1.33 The student evaluates information critically and competently. Grades 3-12
C. Compares and contrasts sources related to a topic to determine which are more accurate, relevant, and comprehensive
D. Explains the differences among fact, opinion, point of view, and identifies them in various information sources
F. Explains why inaccurate and misleading information can lead to faulty conclusions
CH 1.34 The student uses information accurately and creatively. Grades 3-8
E. Integrates new information into one’s own knowledge
F. Draws conclusions by combining new information and ideas with one’s own knowledge
G. Applies information in critical thinking and problem solving across all disciplines
CH 1.35 The student becomes an independent learner through information literacy and the pursuit of information related to personal interests. Grades 6-8
