Rosa PTA Sponsored Programs (What we do)
The Rosa PTA sponsors a number of programs throughout the year for the students, families, and school community. Below are some of the events and programs that we organize.
Help coordinate Reflections contest with the art teacher. The Reflections Program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition in four areas: literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts.

Audit
Audit PTA books in July or August of each year.
Author's Day
Author or Illustrator comes to school for show/book signing, etc. The author works with the 7th graders on writing.
Baking
Provide refreshments for school functions like Back to School, Rosa Mall, Teacher Appreciation, etc. This would not require your presence at a function, but donation of baked goods or other snack type foods.
Board of Education Representative
Attend Board of Education Meetings (4th Tuesday of each month at 7pm) and report back to Rosa PTA writes article about what has happened in quarterly newsletter.
Breakfast Committee
Sets up welcome back, breakfast for the teachers on teachers 1st day of school.
Budget Representative
This position involves attending Cherry Hill School District and Zone PTA budget meetings and reporting back to our Rosa PTA unit. The chairpersons also coordinate voter registration efforts in our school. Since school budget elections are held every year in the spring, this position becomes most active in January. This committee is well-suited to the working parent because District and Zone PTA budget meetings are normally held in the evenings. Write articles for the March newsletter and the Rosa PTA website to inform parents about the Cherry Hill School budget.
Character Education
Assist with activities that promote positive and ethical characters in our children and educate school community to reinforce these messages in consistent fashion. Helps with the Raptor Claw lunches and provide updates of the monthly theme to the webmaster.
Community Outreach Book/Coat Drive (Zone)
The Community Outreach activities is usually organized through Zone PTA and coordinated throughout the district so the donation dates are the same throughout the district. The Chair at each school helps to organize the collection of coats, hats, gloves etc in the fall and books in the spring, arranges transportation of items to Carusi Middle School and if able helps distribute (man table) the items to those that are needy in our community.
Eight Grade Graduation Dance
Plan all aspects of dance, theme, entertainment, food in June.
Family Night
A great night for the entire community to come together for dinner, dancing and games. Decide theme, hire/solicit entertainment, decide menu and hire place to provide food.
Health and Safety Representative
Representative to Zone PTA to educate school community about health/safety issues in the school district.
Hospitality Committee
Helps make Rosa International Middle school a warm and friendly place. The chair helps with Back to School night, sets up refreshments for PTA meetings and the one Board of Education meeting held at Rosa. May get baked goods from Baking volunteer listed above.
Parent Advisory Representative (PAR)
Act as a representative for your child's advisory. You may be asked to make phone calls or coordinate a function by contacting other parents.
Legislation Representative
To Zone PTA committee for the purpose of providing the parents of Rosa International Middle School with information on local, state, and national laws for the protection of our children, help with lobby for Property Tax Reform.
Library Volunteer
Volunteers help with checking in, checking out and shelving books and provides other support to our Librarian throughout the school year.
Membership
Solicit members for the PTA, keeps track of membership, distributes Rosa PTA Membership cards, ability to provide computerized membership list.
Mt. Misery
Provide snacks for 6th graders during Mt. Misery trip.
Nominating
Solicit members to run for a PTA officer and present slate to membership for the next year.
Quarterly Newsletter
The chair gathers information, writes and edits articles, oversee getting the newsletter printed and mailed out. Newsletters are scheduled to be delivered September 1, December 1, March 1 and June 1.
Shop Till You Drop - Click

Shop Till You Drop is a craft/service fair in December from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This is an opportunity to bring the Rosa Community together in a no-stress environment to socialize and shop. This is not a fundraiser. Coordinating this activity involves, soliciting individuals to get a table at the mall, overseeing the set-up of the night, creating flyers to bring parents and children to visit the mall to socialize and shop, helping with the clean-up and sending out thank you letters to those individual who purchased a table.
Dear Vendors:
The Rosa International Middle School PTA's annual Shop Till You Drop
event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 6:00--9:00 PM.
Spaces are $25 for a six-foot space without a table provided
(you provide your own) or $30 for a six-foot space with a
five-foot octagonal table provided (limited tables available). Spaces
include chairs. Parent-teacher conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair are
scheduled to occur at the same time. This event will be advertised
throughout the Cherry Hill community. Attached is a copy of the response
form in a Word document. The margins were adjusted to accommodate all of the
information in the flyer, so I apologize in advance if some the wording does
not fit your computer's margins. In order to eliminate competition
of identical product lines such as Avon, Silpada, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef,
and the like, please contact me to find out if another representative
already reserved a space. Please respond by November 13, 2009. Feel free to

Creates school directory to help facilitate friendships and community at Rosa International Middle School.
Sixth Grade Orientation
Help with 6th grade orientation, make new families welcome, provide small token as welcome. This committee must meet over the summer.
Sunshine Chair
Sends faculty and staff sympathy or get well cards if needed, sends small presents for nurses days, Librarian Day and Secretary Day.
Teacher Appreciation
The PTA shows appreciation of staff by providing a lunch and with gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Webmaster
Keeps the website up to date with important information regarding Rosa PTA and other information that will benefit the Rosa Community.
