Rate yourself on each item based upon the following 4 point scale for your overall effort in Movement Education.

 4 – I gave 90 - 100% effort.

3 – I gave 80 - 90% effort.

2 – I gave 70 - 80% effort.

1 – I gave 60 - 70% effort.

Assignment One:

Student selects a televised Movement or Dance Program or a Live Performance that they are interested in viewing (approved by PE teacher). Student watches the program with their parent/guardian. At the conclusion of the presentation, student asks their viewing partner a series of questions and shares their opinions in a written format. Student writes a brief description of the program and includes answers to the following interview questions:

  1. Why do you like to watch this type of movement/dance program?
  2. Have you ever participated in this type of activity? When?
  3. What did you enjoy most?
  4. What do you look for in a quality performance?
  5. What do you think is the most important skill needed for this activity?
  6. What do you think is the most important personal quality needed for this activity?
  7. What fitness related components are needed for this activity?
  8. Additional relevant questions!

 

Assignment Two:

Student illustrates or creates a collage of movement/dance figures that demonstrate a progression of skill levels and the training required.
